The FMA I.Ae. 26 D-600 was a postwar design for an interceptor proposed by French designer Émile Dewoitine (hence the "D" in D-600) after he migrated to Argentina in the late 1940s. It was canceled in favor of developing the Pulqui I jet fighter. I used a scheme similar to the one used by the Curtiss Hawks then in service.

Side views are strongly preferred, and I think you've been taken in by a fake.

This is fascinating, and yes, it has the Dewoitine 'look'. And the engine? By the exhaust and cowel shape it does look like a Daimler Benz. :)

It's probably a Hispano-Suiza 12X.

Nope, just Googled it and it seems it was the Merlin III.

An offical history of FMA that I have a PDF copy of has more info on the D-600.
"(Designed by engineer Emile Dewoitine) conventional fighter aircraft with optional powerplant, Rolls Royce Merlin III in 1030 HP or Daimler Benz DB 601-A twelve-cylinder inverted 1,100 HP (was going to be provided by Spain). The project is cancelled by the B-700 (I.Ae.27) PULQUI I. Features: 10.20 m wingspan; long 8.90 m; inboard wing 15,92 m; weight empty 2090 Kg; weight total 2740 Kg; maximum speed 560 Km/h; roof theoretical 10000 m; reach 1400 Km; planned armament Canyon HS-404 of 20 mm, four machine guns caliber 7.50 mm M-39 (MAC - model 1934)."

Great work Kilomouse, an intereting subject.

Thanks Hood :) IMHO the drawing shows the inverted Daimler Benz, as it so close in outline to German and Italian designs that used this excellent engine. :)

Wow. Big russian bomber.... Well stealth usually means aerodynamic.... if they did make those, all we'd have to do is find them, put a a few rounds at the junction where the wing meets the body.... Speed will do the rest.
anything can be done about something.
