Very long and deep studies confirmed that it would be necessary to "open" more the Gibraltar strait in order to improve the Mediterranean Sea's health...
Moreover the Rock is the main responsible of perturbation of air currents coming from Atlantic.

Nah, it's the launch pad for Von Braun's space station.
