Long Beach CGN Refit

#1 Post by SINJOORTJE »

Here is the second long beach refit from 1980. Some parts may not be updated due to the fact that the drawing is 4 months old. Feedback please!

Not a bad start, but incomplete and inaccurate. 5/54 never replaced 5/38. SPS-48 is missing. SPS-12 should no longer be present. That's what really jumps out at me for now.

I am unsure about the radars but I replaced the gun turret.

There are still numerous errors in your rendition, sinjoortje; especially the absence of electronic countermeasure weapons, SPS-48E radar, the overall appearance of both masts (the aft lattice mast really needs working on!). Also no OE-82 (square) SatComms, or SRobc chaff/flares. In addition there are a whole host of smaller details which you haven't added! Do you have photographic reference materiel on her at all? If not in books, it's very easy to find a trove online! I'd suggest you aquaint yourself more thoroughly with that before attempting this project further! - If for no other reason,it'll make the final product so much better and pleasing to the eyes!
