Re: British carriers 50-85.
That's the one I was looking for I knew I'd seen it.When you look in the archive it comes up as a Van Speijk/Leander.I thought at first they were the same but my book says the Campania was longer with a shallower draught.
Re: British carriers 50-85.
You're quite right. The three ships of the Nairana class were of a similar, but not identical design. They were build in three different shipyards and Campania was 540 ft long, Nairana 528 ft and Vindex 524 ft.Bombhead wrote:That's the one I was looking for I knew I'd seen it.When you look in the archive it comes up as a Van Speijk/Leander.I thought at first they were the same but my book says the Campania was longer with a shallower draught.

Here's an update on HMS Unicorn.
Re: British carriers 50-85.
Very, very nice Bombhead. Unicorn is one of those oddities that no other Navy built but one that really quite makes sense when you look at the kind of attrition the Fleet Air Arm expected in aircraft, even in peacetime!

Thanks Hood. The drawing I used was unfortunatly not very accurate so I had to make loads of changes.I did her in the end at the time of the Salerno landings when she was used as an operational carrier.

I agree, my ship in the MMO star trek online is named the Unicorn with this ship as the same namesake.Novice wrote:Beautifull work Bombhead. One of the un-sung heroes of the RN.
