Decided to do draw my first never built design. This is a subject that always interested me, the Northrop Grumman E-10A, based on the Boeing 767-400, combining elements of the E-7 Wedgetail and E-8 JSTARS

CAPRA R.80

A rather awkward proposal for a trans-Atlantic mailplane (freighter in modern terms).

Image

A flying boat designed by the relatively obscure French manufacturer CAPRA, now the missile company MATRA, to operate a Portugal-New York freight service during the ealy days of WWII. The aircraft was designed to be catapult launched, and at the end of it's flight the engines were to be shutdown and the propellers locked in the horizontal for a glide approach. On the water a small propeller would be deployed to allow water manoeuvring. One of the major flaws of this scheme was that no-one had approached the Americans about the construction of a catapult in New York to allow the service to return to Europe.
A larger twin-hulled model was also proposed, but by the time the US had entered the war the project was dropped.

Iranian Hawker Hurricane Mk.I

With an air force of mainly Hawker combat aircraft, the choice of the Hurricane as the next Iranian fighter in 1939 was obvious.

Image

A single Hurricane was sent to Iran for testing in mid 1939, leading to an order for 30 Hurricane Mk.I aircraft. With the start of war in Europe, Britain only agreed to release 15 aircraft, and then only after March 1940. However the order was further delayed due to slow work in developing the required tropical air filter. In December 1940 the order was finally cancelled by Britain.
Meanwhile it was decided that Hurricanes could instead be assembled locally at the Iranian Shahbaz Aircraft Factory, from British supplied components in early 1941. As tensions built in the Middle East the supply of the parts and materials was held up, and finally in August the export licence for the equipment was cancelled.
With the British delays, in November 1939 an Iranian delegation was sent to the USA and instead ordered 10 Curtiss H-75A-9 Hawk fighters - all but 1 of which were still in their packing crates in Ahvaz when Britain invaded Iran.
Illustrated is a speculative Hurricane Mk.I Trop. in 1941 Iranian colours.

Germany, Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle
Image
As a part of their program to replace the Panavia Tornado, the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) requested information on the Lockheed Martin F-35, Boeing F-15E, and Boeing F/A-18E/F and E/A-18G. While the F-15E was not a frontrunner, with orders being initially placed for Super Hornet and Growler (and then replaced by F-35 orders), it was at the very least in contention for a short period of time.

This drawing shows what a Luftwaffe F-15E may have looked like in service. The top scheme is the Norm 83 camouflage pattern, while the bottom is all-over FS 35237 Grey Blue as is currently used on the Tornado IDS.
