The Fieseler Fi-166 Höhenjäger, a design that strapped what was essentially part of a V2 onto a twin engine jet interceptor.

New Zealand, F-16A Fighting Falcon
Image

In the late 1990s, the New Zealand Government agreed to purchase 28 F-16A/B Fighting Falcons, airframes previously intended for sale to Pakistan, as an interim replacement for their aging A-4K Skyhawks. In March 2000, the incoming Labour government under Prime Minister Helen Clark cancelled the purchase, effectively stripping the RNZAF of combat aircraft after the last A-4K was retired in 2001. The RNZAF has not operated combat aircraft since.

The first two schemes are the ones most likely to have been worn by RNZAF F-16s, the first being a lowvis camouflage modeled on current RNZAF aircraft such as the King Air 350 and the second being the final scheme worn by RNZAF A-4Ks. The last two schemes are historical camouflages depicted here as some sort of heritage scheme.

They were not. The aircraft set to be purchased by the RNZAF were the F-16A/Bs previously intended for Pakistan. Those same airframes, after cancellation of the RNZAF order, were taken over by the USN as replacements for their F-16Ns, which had begun to develop cracks in the wing spar. Those aircraft are still in use as adversary aircraft by the USN.

Inspired by the 1980s proposal by Fokker for a jet powered Carrier Onboard Delivery Aircraft based off the F-28. I took a few artistic liberties for the liveries shown.

The F-28 COD looks good in those 1980s colour schemes.

EKW twin engined fighter

During WWII several twin-engined fighter projects were worked on, but none were progressed to construction.

While other designers worked on more typical models, EKW's design for a twin was a quite radical pusher. I could not find any info on an actual designator for the design, but illustrations show it labeled "N-0", so perhaps it is related to the eventual EFW N-20 "Aiguillon" jet fighter.
