HMS Hood: Alternate Fate

What is says on the tin. This is a fictitious take on what might have happened to the Hood if things went down differently.

Semi fictional rebuild design

Very nice. Lovely conversion of Hood, I do wonder what if all 4 had been built Hood Cinverted in service but Anson, Howe and Rodney during build. And what their fates would have been.

Excellent work.

For some extra inspiration, here's a whole discussion about the designs leading up to Hood:

Of note:

Design 3 was chosen for development, but 4-6 had 18 inch MkI guns (15" B gun was the designation for the 18" MkI gun, a secret development) with design 6 being 20 feet longer and carrying a massive 8 18" guns...

Which would have had... Interesting implications for the coming post-war naval treaties.
Would you please not eat my gun...

In my haste to making camos and such, I forgot that by 1941, all of the 4.7" DP mounts would have been replaced with the twin 4" DP mounts, so I´ve corrected that. And I made a new, less shitty camo for the 1942 edition.
