Brazilian Modern Navy Corvettes Inhaúma and Barroso Classes

#1 Post by pepembr_mb »

In 1984, the Brazilian Navy began a program to built 12 corvettes derivated from a German OPV project. The first of them, Inhaúma, was launched in 1986 and delivered to the Esquadra in 1989. They were succeeded by the Barroso, a one ship class that will be my next project:

as comment in the upload tread:

first off:

Inhaúma class:

- All superstructure should be in same color.
- hull shall have a darker grey color than the superstructure.
- Shading under overhang
- underwater hull shading isn't good
- Windows should be outlined with black.
- window color should be either standard Shipbucket blue (classic) or the new window color, that many artist is using.
- many of the "doors" have windows in them... they many of them should not have windows in them.
- I believe the ship is also laing a little lower in the water.
- the angle on the front of the superstructure is to steep. It should be more like this illustration:

- torpedo tubes, updated version:

- I think the 40mm look different, at the moment it look close to this one:
Image
- lynx helicopter
Image
- missiles should be shown above the ship

-----------------------------------
Barroso class:

- All superstructure should be in same color.
- hull shall have a darker grey color than the superstructure.
- Shading under overhang
- underwater hull shading isn't good
- Windows should be outlined with black.
- window color should be either standard Shipbucket blue (classic) or the new window color, that many artist is using.
- many of the "doors" have windows in them... they many of them should not have windows in them.
- some adjustment on the tip of the bow, it should be pointing more upward then suddenly go flat
- front of the superstructure goes down at an angle, almost all the way!
- all breaks that goes at an angle should be in grey. look at stern and front of the superstructure.
- remember missile above the ship, exempel:
Image
- shape and height of mast not perfect.
- shape of the ruder is a little different:

There is many more, but start on these, and work on the details. then they will look nice and real.
an example on style, shading, color variation between superstructure and hull:

I've said it before and I'll say it now that Lynx is incorrectly scaled and should be removed from the wiki.

So, we need a new Linx! But this is the one available...

Some points

This is not very realistic. I used photographs and newer plans as references.

It already has both.

I used some shadding used by Garlic Design

Okay, I changed them

I used photographs and newer plans as references. This design is not very acurate.

Brazilian Navy uses a Brazilian torpedo launcher.

Sorry, my 40 mm design is closer to the real thing.

I changed it.

Believe it or not, there's no Exocet MM40 at Shipbucket Equipment sheets. It would be a good idea to create one.

Cheers

You can steal exocet MM4o missile from another drawing, you might find them on some older British frigates.

why the missile isn't on the partsheet... is beyond me
