Ukrainian battleships and battlecruisers 1908-1920
1. Bohun-Class battleship
Laid down: 1908. Launched: 1910. Commissioned: 1912.
Decommissioned: 1922. Scrapped: 1923 and 1924.
Ivan Bohun - Ivan Bohun ((? – 1664) Was a Ukrainian Cossack colonel. Associate and friend of Bohdan Khmelnytsky. Ivan Bohun is a popular Ukrainian folk hero.)
Bohdan Khmelnytsky - Bohdan Khmelnytsky ((1595 – 1657) Was the Hetman of the Zaporozhian Host of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth (now part of Ukraine). He led an uprising against the Commonwealth and its magnates (1648–1654) which resulted in the creation of a Cossack state. In 1654, he concluded the Treaty of Pereyaslav with the Tsardom of Russia.)
Displacement: 25 800 / 28 950 t.
Dimensions: 181,5 х 28,5 х 8,5 m.
Machinery:
4 steam turbine Parsons, 22 boilers Yarrow, 4 shafts, 46 000 shp = 22 kts.

Hetman Sahaydachniy - Petro Konashevych-Sahaydachniy ((1582 – 1622) - Ukrainian political and civic leader, Hetman of Ukrainian Zaporozhian Cossacks from 1616–1622, a brilliant military leader both on land and sea. While being a Cossack Hetman, he transformed the Cossack Host from the erratic military formation into regular army. Under his leadership the cossacks, the Orthodox clergy and peasants had been begun to emerge as the united nation.)
In 1922-1924, the battleship was converted to a training ship.
Hetman Doroshenko - Petro Dorofeyevych Doroshenko ((1627–1698) was a Cossack political and military leader, Hetman of Right-bank Ukraine (1665–1672). His great-granddaughter is Natalia Pushkina (Goncharova). Natalia would marry the poet Alexander Pushkin, and have a daughter named also Natalia, who was named the Countess of Merenberg following her marriage to her husband, a Nassau prince. Their descendants subsequently married into, amongst others, the Romanov dynasty and the Westminster and Milford-Haven noble families of Great Britain.)
The battleship was sunk at anchor by a magazine explosion in late 1916, killing 338 crewmen. Was subsequently raised, but his condition was very poor, and he was finally scrapped in 1923.
