It's taken a year but here's my Bristol Beaufort series. I started with Colosseum's profile & heavily modified it according to factory drawings, over 300 WW2 photographs and study of restored examples & wrecks.

Annoyingly your Beaufort's were rescaled, but what I can see, they look bloody good.

Those Beauforts look fantastic. Annoyingly the Australian ones are resized!

Great additions!

I was thinking about re-working the Beaufort drawing some day, so it would be "compatible" with Beaufighter, but I guess now it's bit pointless.

I see what you mean by the re-scaling of the RAAF Beauforts, but that's not my doing - blame photobucket or other causes. Had a few odd problems with replacing pics this site with newer versions on occasion.
I'll try & repost it later, perhaps in two separate parts.

Eswube -- I'm slowly working on Rowdy36's Beaufighter which is missing several details.

Photobucket does normally rescale pictures wider then 1000 pixels. Just cut 24 pixels of your picture and it will be fine.

Not much trouble to do it, so here's the separated RAAF DAP Beaufort files ...
Note :- Curtiss Electric propellers were used on all except late MK. VI, Va & early Mk.VIIs, which had Hamilton-Standard "bracket" propellers - aircraft wih these types of propeller retained them through-out their lives.

You can try adding a "~original" parameter at the end of the image URL so that it comes out in its original resolution. ;)

(using one of Sir Golly's pics for example)

Without ~original

Code: Select all

Other than that, really nice work on the Beauforts and the peculiar vehicles. :) Image
