@erik_t: Yes, but I haven't Shipbucketed my Artisan 3D model yet. Possibly because it has NO STRAIGHT LINES. How am I supposed to draw that? It was difficult enough producing the UCAV

This surprises me. EMALS is designed in such a way that it can curve, so is there a reason you don't have it start up the ski jump?RP1 wrote:@TimothyC: Yes, it's a short EMALS or long EMCAT. It terminates before the ramp.

I'll try my hand at it if you'll share the relevant references. All I've got is a few sales-brochure PDFs.RP1 wrote:@erik_t: Yes, but I haven't Shipbucketed my Artisan 3D model yet. Possibly because it has NO STRAIGHT LINES. How am I supposed to draw that? It was difficult enough producing the UCAV
Re: UCAV Carriers
It might not be quite as large of an aircraft as you were thinking, but VARIOUS might be a good concept for the UCAV. Rolling takeoff alone would probably be able to provide an increase in lift without requiring a catapult, and the concept includes fairly lowly loaded fans.

Damn, you just beat me to it! I was about to ask the exact same thing! The UVX would be fantastic, and open for so many variations in load out and weapons fit.Colombamike wrote:And the UVX ?
