Re: What started as the Myrmidon from Hawx
It's 100x better than my very first drawings. Obviously it has some realism problems, and we can help you sort those out as you'd like.

Re: Fictional Inter-war to WWII USN Ships
The drawings are very nicely executed, although the Olympias (while very pretty) could probably not operate scouting aircraft very effectively without a hangar. In US doctrine, battleships didn't need to worry about aircraft hangars because they could be expected to operate in the battle line, and ...

Re: maomatics Personal Designs
Treading right up to the line of too much detail, but not over it, is your specialty. I'm not sure anyone else in the community could pull off a drawing like this.

Re: F123 Brandenburg Class German navy
Fantastic re-draw.
I sort of agree with Rainmaker on Harpoon--I always think of Shipbucket as stemming from old-school recognition guides, and showing RAM almost as large as Harpoon somewhat misleads the reader if they don't know what's what. I'd show the big old fat Harpoon drawing.

Re: FdDA - Frégate de Défense Aérienne
I don't have a ton to add to Rainmaker's comment. I think one helpful way to develop a "feel" for appropriate weapons, sensors, equipment, etc. is to try sketching a made-up second cousin of a real ship, making different top-level trade-offs and examining how it alters the ship impact. For example ...

Without getting too deep into the weeds, I agree that the design is badly overloaded.

100 rounds for the 75mm, 100 knots, 100kg of cocaine to our dear Shipbuilding Engineer Alekseev.
Nicely drawn and utterly strange.
