Looking forward to seeing this thread progress. The CGSN is my favorite never built, and the CSGN-like Long Beach conversion is almost as interesting.
Nice work so far, acelanceloet.

Re: Murrumbidgee Class FF Redux
If you swap the Harpoons and Sea Sparrows, you'll be able to have the CIWS covering the aft half of the ship and the Sea Sparrows covering the front. Or, move the Harpoons aft, beach the Sea Sparrows, and put an ASROC box forward. Or, leave the Sea Sparrow box where it is, remove the Harpoons, and ...

Re: FFG(x) 98

Re: FFG(x) 98
I don't know if the Millennium gun is appropriate for the 1998 era. Design work started in 1995, but it didn't enter service until 2003. I guess it depends on when the ship is planned to actually enter service. That said, LockMart was the US partner for the gun and they demonstrated it for the USN ...

Re: FFG(x) 98
- bulbous bows are not often fitted on warships, and I cannot think of any of this size and year that has one. US warships in the 1910s had a form of bulbous bow called the Taylor bow. They fell out of favor at some point, but newer versions started showing up on ships in the 50s and 60s. The US ...
