Re: Revisiting the style rules
As I am a relative newcomer to Shipbucket (only a year), I'm going to keep most of my opinions to myself for the moment. That said, two things I'd like to put out there: 1) As was noted previously up-thread, sailing ships don't really work too well at SB scale which was, after all, intended to ...

Re: Canada - Orca class Patrol Craft, Training
Re: shading - my understanding is that we're supposed to use no more than three shades of the basic hull/superstructure colours - a lighter colour for highlights, and a darker colour for some shadowing (e.g., the hull strake forward). I can try tweaking the colour for more shading separation, though ...

Canada - Orca class Patrol Craft, Training
Previously submitted in the Beginner's forum and tweaked there. No comments on it in over a year now, so at Gollevainen 's suggestion, here it is. I should also note that Carnac had previously posted an Orca drawing as well ( http://www.shipbucket.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1260 ). I didn't ...

Re: Real Design, Canada - Orca class PCT WIP
Per Gollevainen's suggestion to me, I'm going to re-submit this in the Real Designs forum. I see that someone else a few years ago posted an Orca drawing there, so I assume I should make acknowledgment of their prior effort in my post.

Nice job! I really like the take on a Canadian-ized version in the SAR colours.

Re: What If Canada bought the Slava class cruiser Ukrayina..
I'll just note - since this is a work in progress - that the Royal Canadian Navy no longer flies the national flag at the stern. Alongside, the national flag is flown as the naval jack at the jackstaff, and the naval ensign is flown at the ensign staff. At sea, the naval ensign is flown from the ...

Re: Real Design, Canada - ASL-20 HMCS Cormorant
Your profile says you're in the RCN if you are on the east coast and not too far from Bridgewater, NS but she has been alongside there for some time. You can get fairly close, or there is a park across the river which would allow you to get some good side view pictures. She's in pretty rough shape ...

Re: Real Design, Canada - ASL-20 HMCS Cormorant
Never knew this ship existed but I tell you this, I love it! Please finish this drawing, if you want I'll do the COA for it even! Lovely ship! Thanks very much, Rodondo; I'll definitely be progressing work on her. I do have the ship's badge, but may well need help putting it in the proper ...

Real Design, Canada - ASL-20 HMCS Cormorant
WIP - base colours only, concentrating on main structures. No details such as railings, liferafts, kisbie rings, radar, electronics, etc. as yet. Cormorant was a dive tender for the SDL-1 and Pisces IV submersibles, until she was decommissioned in 1997. I'll be including both submersibles on the ...
