I was thinking that too, but deployment would be severely restricted (well, more severely than usual) by the weather. What if I put a water-proof shutter over it?

Re: Vingança-Class Corvette
Fairly sound. I find doing a plan(top)view helps me to see where I don't actually have enough space for something, and where I have space and didn't know it. Planviews seem to be rare here, though. Your RHIB position is going to be a very wet and dangerous place for the crew in any kind of swell ...

Re: my first post
If your main mast is damaged you're mission killed anyway. I'd rather have all 21 missiles, than 11, and the extra weight on a totally redundant radar. I agree. By the way, anyone have an assessment of Meroka verses other systems? It's(relatively)low weight, low price, and very good performance ...

Re: my first post
The active stabilizer is so far aft that I believe it would do substantially more harm than good. I appreciate that you think you've got a fun answer to the all-round CIWS problem, but it has every appearance of something that would only work on paper (and even then only barely). Holy vibration to ...

Re: my first post
Gotcha. My info is dated![embarrassed] Here she is with hanger extended/closed. (also some minor edits) http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb327/mustenadamj/1-1.png Steel is cheep, and with small ships, the ability to have a hanger and a landing pad is good. If you want to keep your Tomahawks, you ...

Re: my first post
oops, forgot to mention telescoping hanger. vls is clear allround by about 6 feet, hanger is in retracted position. i designed the ship around the 48 cell mk41/telscop hanger combo, note tracks for hanger on flight deck. cable/strut hand "rails" folded into deck around deck edges, pulled up by the ...

Re: my first post
ciws mounted on rotating sleeve, only way to get 360. there would be some bugs to work out, no doubt!
wasn't sure abt the poon' launchers, either
mk 41 meant to be strike length. by iffy, what do you mean? too much for the tonnage?
