Re: Future challenge ideas/suggestions

FACs definitely need more love, so how that as an idea? On the plus side, they require far less time than a battlecruiser, so such a competition would be open to a larger group of artists.

Re: Kingdom of Canada - Royaume du canada

Very promising AU. Looking at the DDs, I'd have been tempted to have used the 4"/62 (10.2 cm) Vickers Mark Q instead of the 3"/50 or to have included it as an upgrade/replacement, but I understand some of your reasoning here.

Re: CL-145 Roanoke 1991

The only critique I have of what is a beautiful rendering, is weren't those 6" guns, basically a flop? I got the impression that they didn't work well at all, and this is why those cruisers had a short service life.

Re: Fleet Air defence fighter of 1980 challenge

I have to say I'm in agreement with Deskjetser; this competition contains some of the best FD Scale aircraft drawings the bucket has seen in a long time--when have we ever had this many designs, by so many individuals, most of them offering multiple views in a single thread? It would be a shame if ...

Re: Fleet Air defence fighter of 1980 challenge

Well, not up to the standard of the other amazing designs here, but I wanted to contribute, and I had this (albeit it in a cruder form) floating around in my archives: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gzuljzuuw0zi4tq/Competition%20SubmissionB.png?dl=1 The Lynx was The Grand Duchy of Pallamara's attempt to ...

Very good work, though I'm used to seeing them in a much brighter paint scheme! :D

I need to finally get around to posting this, my VG version of Rowdy's excellent Tempest, whom I owe a special thanks to for providing additional drawings of, which were of immeasurable help in making this design:

Re: 1934-1936 German Raider competition: Ardanian AU

It might be possible to reduce range a bit, but I'm basing my design requirements off the later British Abdiel Class minelayers, which displaced something like 2,650 or so tons. I'm allowing for up to 4,000 tons, so that should offer enough leeway. As far as the design being cheap, it's more like ...

1934-1936 German Raider competition: Ardanian AU

To all German shipbuilding firms: It is the consensus of the General Staff that a war with Great Britain is practically inevitable within the next decade. Being an island nation, the UK is a natural fortress that cannot be taken in traditional land offensive, meaning it must instead be starved into ...

This is a prototype that may or may not end up the final map, but I wanted to post this to give and idea of size, scale, and location.
