Re: ••••

I've asked about commercial use before, I'll post his response here to save him the trouble of posting again, Hello Bullfrog, I am Timothy Cizadlo, the general point of contact for copyright and fair use issues. The standing practice is to handle requests for commercial use on a case-by-case basis ...

Re: ••••

Ah, I did miss the first post, I assumed that $25 had been offered, The licence agreement on the site allows any and all commercial use as long as credit is given , no payment or other reciprocation is required. The validity of the license on shipbucket images is also questionable since it is ...

Re: ••••

Can I enquire as to why there is such hostility to paid requests on this forum? Shipbucket is the premier resource for lineart on the internet. While I understand that many people don't want to commercialize their hobby and don't need the extra money you must realize that not everyone has the same ...

Re: Japan unveils largest warship since World War II (Izumo)

They're still playing the rather silly game of trying to be seen to obey Article 9, as in not maintaining land, sea,and air forces, as well as other war potential, How Ageis destroyers don't count as as war potential is anybody's guess. The modern interpretation seems to be that forces can only be ...

Re: Altrenate Carrier for the 80's RN

;) did not mean to ridicule you, think there's been bit of a misunderstanding, I was merely interested in how your two part fuel element idea might work. I know it is impossible to refuel a PWR reactor whilst under power how we got onto Hot Refueling not sure...... ;) I'm sorry, I didn't mean you ...

Re: Altrenate Carrier for the 80's RN

I've consulted an ex nuclear chemist and he doesn't think there would be any balance or stability issue with a half rod in the reactor, no problems with neutron balances, hot refueling PWRs is impossible but hot refuelling with a half rod has the potential to cause problems. In summary it'd work ...

Re: Altrenate Carrier for the 80's RN

I never heard of that, a Neutron Imbalance wouldn't of caused those leaks however. Hot refueling isn't done anymore on full power on AGRs after a few jams and it almost certainly wouldn't work on a PWR (it's pressurized) Neutron balances frankly confuse me, I found this here which to me seems to ...

Re: Altrenate Carrier for the 80's RN

Ah, SCRAM (Safety Control Rod Axe Man), They already have to grab a normal fuel rod when it is quite a way down the channel, the extra distance would pose a challenge but I doubt it'd be a deal breaker. Hypothetically some sort of clamp could slide down the channel and connect to the assembly when ...

Re: Altrenate Carrier for the 80's RN

you wouldn do that since you need the ability to take the rod out fast if the reactor is .... well pushing a bit hard. And if it was possible to split an rod they would have don that ages ago... but they don't. You don't take fuel rods out normally, certainly not when the reactor is "pushing a bit ...

Re: Altrenate Carrier for the 80's RN

explain to me how you couple 2 half RADIOACTIVE fuel elements inside an presurrised compartiment flood with radiation, bullfrog. bolting it together? or welding? I cannot think of any way that would work inside an reactor. Well, I'd lower the first fuel rod down into the core then seat the second ...
