Re: 6th Uploading session - The quest for correct filenames
I pointed it out in their thread but those Spru-Cans still have the wrong Seasprite drawing. It has a range of detail mistakes later corrected and the helo shown landed on the flight deck has its main gear retracted! Also the Knox has the older Seasprite that is drawn out of scale and with the port ...

Re: BCG-1 "Alaska"-class extra-long-range air-defense cruise
of course we know that. not the exact numbers, but we know it is heavyweight. but the main problem here would be the structural integrety of the hull with the heavy weight fore and aft, that gives problems here. these systems might fit on the ship, but not in this arrangement. Mate you have no ...

Re: Austal MRV 80
I'm not sure of the exact shade but I could ask around and find out. These pictures of 3D graphics of the AWD seem to show the the greeny tint and a before (haze grey) and after (green grey):

Re: BCG-1 "Alaska"-class extra-long-range air-defense cruise
I think this is a very imaginative and fun drawing. Better than all those other Alaska kit bashes out there. It’s cool that you incorporated the SAGE, or ‘SeaSAGE’, into this ultimate 1950s radar picket ship! The DASH is also a good touch and just the sort of crazy thing to try and operate from the l ...

Re: CVA-01
I don’t care about the Hornet or P.XYZ but thought I’d offer a few feedbacks on the drawing. The platforms for the Phalanx guns look way to small. There isn’t much room for sailors to come out and maintain them and reload the gun. Similar platforms on the Nimitz class are much bigger. The starboard s ...

Re: Austal MRV 80
I've drawn this as it might appear in Australian service, as it often comes up as a possible replacement for the Armidale, Leeuwin, Huon and Paluma Class ships under Project SEA 1180. This is as good as place as any to mention this but the RAN has changed the shade of grey ships are painted. No ...

Re: Commonwealth of Recherche
I admit the population figures could be a tad optimistic, but in its favour is a slight head start in European settlement compared to Australia, closer to trade routes, and a larger percentage of arable land than Australia...but after a quick search I agree that it is highly probable that a good ...

Re: Commonwealth of Recherche
Looks good and is an interesting place for a country. It’s probably likely but that the Austronesian people would have found these islands sometime in 2000 years ago. They colonised Madagascar and the Pacific. This could also explain how you got to 30 million in population. That’s about half of the t ...

Re: Royal South African Navy
Very cool stuff but I see this board has not changed a bit... naturally the poor OP has to shoot down endless stupid questions and justify everything he does despite the fact that this is an AU forum. I applaud your patience sir. Thanks for the kind words. I don't mind feedback but sometimes it ...

Re: A Go at a Clemson Upgrade...
Quite a few Allied ships were lost in the Mediterranean theatre after they ran out of AA ammunition. Pulling out half of the boilers and motors was quite common with the Flush Deckers. It not only freed up a lot of internal space but it also cut the crew. They could still make a respectable 24 odd ...
