Kim, The RAF mainly operated the Catalina as a straight flying boat, so in 1942 these would have been PBY-5s. As for colours these would most likely have been Dark Sea Grey/Dark Slate Grey uppers with Sky lowers. These would have had a low demarkation line, with just the underside of the hull being ...
